- Corrosion resistant coatings for instrumentation and sample transfer
- Inert coatings for process, CEMS, MEMS, GC and other analytical systems
- High purity coatings for improved analysis
- Active Compounds, Sulfur, Mercaptan, H2S sampling, transfer, and analysis
Silcolloy™1000 protective coatings improve the performance of analytical and process instrumentation used in corrosive environments by up to 10X. The Silcolloy™1000 coating will protect stainless steel from experiencing high corrosion rates, excessive surface activity and prevent analytical sample stream contamination. Instrument manufacturers worldwide have used Silcolloy™1000 coating to:
- Reduce maintenance cycles
- Reduce maintenance cost
- Improve analytical reliability
- Increase sample pathway purity and sample stream purity
SilcoTek™ coatings are the ideal coating choice for protecting or improving instrumentation performance in process, analytical, gas, oil, and stack sampling systems. Table 1 lists instrumentation components and applications where SilcoTek™ coatings minimize corrosion or prevent adsorption of active compounds in sample pathways.

Silcolloy™1000 improves corrosion resistance by 10X compared to stainless steel

In corrosive environments, Silcolloy™1000 treatment is an excellent alternative to expensive alloys. Silcolloy™1000 treatment extends component life while reducing the frequency of preventive maintenance and ensuring the purity of the process or sample stream. Silcolloy™1000 improves corrosion resistance by up to 10X over untreated 316 stainless steel (per ASTM G48 Method B, Figure 2).
By improving the corrosion resistance of 316L stainless steel by up to 10X, Silcolloy™1000 reduces costly maintenance and field failures due to system corrosion. Figure 3 compares the cost of Silcolloy™1000 coated, 316L and a Hastelloy C22 gas sampling system. Silcolloy™1000 demonstrates significant life-cycle cost savings, compared to unprotected stainless steel or stainless steel alloys.

Summary
By enhancing the performance of stainless steel, SilcoTek™ can help instrument manufacturers improve system performance and durability while reducing life cycle cost. Silcolloy1000™ treated components last up to 10x longer in corrosive environments compared to untreated 316L stainless steel. SilcoTek™ treatments can be applied to existing instrument components without expensive reengineering or design changes.
