Analytical Market Manager
Job Summary
The fundamental responsibility of this position is to maintain and grow SilcoTek’s analytical business. Its core purpose is to serve as a marketing and business development liaison between SilcoTek and the analytical industry. Relationship building, communication, organization, and self-motivation are key skills for succeeding in this position. The Analytical Market Manager will communicate with and coordinate between engineers, supply chain managers, and business representatives of companies within the analytical industry as well as SilcoTek’s sales representatives (international and domestic) engaged with the industry. This individual will also be responsible for uncovering and reporting market trends and customer insights, technical needs and opportunities, and market-driven guidance to SilcoTek’s corporate strategy.
Duties/Responsibilities
Find and Communicate Game-Changing Coating Opportunities in Analytical

Develop and maintain a gap analysis of a market needs/pain points and SilcoTek solutions (existing and needing development) to provide a roadmap for the future

Prepare market research studies for prospective new analytical applications and/or specific customers

Lead Analytical Business Team to identify and benchmark performance standards of SilcoTek solutions (existing and in-development) vs. alternatives

Manage the monitoring and reporting of analytical market trends (customer-specific and macroeconomic) to internal stakeholders

Communicate voice of customer and market research on new coating, testing, or support needs to the Technical Insights Group and Analytical Business Team
Develop and Deploy Assets to Attract Valuable Analytical Customers

Using data from performance benchmarking noted above, develop Technical Insights and other marketing assets for attracting new analytical business

Assist others on the Marketing team with development of analytical-specific assets

Participate in marketing activities for other industries as required, e.g. reviewing copy or use of technical data
- Attend trade shows and customer visits in support of new business development efforts (travel requirements noted below)
Accelerate the Analytical Sales Cycle with Relevant Resources and Support

Serve as lead technical and business contact for analytical customers and internal representatives

Develop and manage relationships with key industry leaders and specifiers in target analytical applications; participate in relevant industry committees

Assist analytical market sales representatives as needed to growing revenue and maintain existing accounts in the analytical market

Along with sales representative(s), proactively target new analytical accounts with marketing assets to establish new business
Capture and Leverage Analytical Customer Insights into Internal Improvements

Manage the voice-of-customer process from the analytical industry back to SilcoTek by communicating, prioritizing, and helping to execute the implementation of solutions that reduce customer friction

Firmly understand industry quality requirements and communicate them to SilcoTek production, engineering, quality, and R&D teams to guide development of appropriate specifications

Develop keen understanding of customer supply chains and associated pain points to prepare recommendations for SilcoTek’s analytical growth plan
Required Skills/Abilities

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Competent use of computers: operating systems, email, spreadsheets, word processing and database applications

Works well with others in a team environment

Work is typically performed in an office environment, with occasional work in a manufacturing and laboratory environment

Technical knowledge of analytical applications in order to develop focused data/marketing assets and communicate appropriately with high-end customers
Education and Experience
-
A bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, marketing, or business administration is preferred; degrees in supply chain management or other S.T.E.M. field are acceptable

5+ years of experience in the analytical industry in either a business or technical capacity are required
-
Master’s-level education in any field listed above is a plus but not required
Work Environment / Physical Requirements

Work is performed in an office environment

Hybrid work arrangement (in office and remote)

Travel up to 12 weeks annually to attend trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings

Engineering Technician
Build. Troubleshoot. Improve.
SilcoTek is seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined Engineering Technician to support both our Engineering and Manufacturing teams. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with equipment, solving problems, building solutions, and seeing the direct impact of their work on production and process improvements.
As an Engineering Technician, you will assist with testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment and machinery while supporting engineering projects from concept through implementation. This is a highly collaborative role that requires strong mechanical aptitude, trade-related skills, and a willingness to learn.
What You'll Do

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing, process, and facility equipment

Support Engineering and Manufacturing with testing and problem-solving activities
-
Assist with project development, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives

Build, assemble, and modify equipment and systems
-
Perform hands-on work involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and industrial equipment
-
Work independently on assigned tasks and smaller projects under the guidance of Engineering leadership
-
Follow and promote safe work practices in a manufacturing environment

Education & Experience

Alternatively, 2+ years of experience in engineering, chemistry, manufacturing, maintenance, or a related technical field

Experience with welding, machining, HVAC, fabrication, industrial controls, or similar trades preferred

Experience with CAD or other design software preferred
Physical Requirements
- This position is performed in a manufacturing environment and requires:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to regularly lift and move objects up to 20 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and move objects up to 100 pounds
