Quality Systems Manager

SilcoTek Corporation is actively seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Systems Manager to oversee and optimize our quality management systems. This position focuses on ensuring the effectiveness, compliance, and continuous improvement of our processes, rather than managing personnel. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving best practices in quality systems, working cross-functionally with teams to implement and maintain standards, and ensuring that our systems meet both regulatory and organizational requirements.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, operation and assessment of SilcoTek’s quality management system. Act as primary quality contact for external entities.
  • Accountable for making sure SilcoTek maintains status as ISO 9001 registered company by coordinating internal quality systems audits and organizing/overseeing future accreditation activities.
  • Work with customer quality auditors to assure we meet customer quality expectations.
  • Facilitate and manage SilcoTek’s document/specification control systems.
  • Lead SilcoTek’s ZDAR (Corrective Action) system and as such, coordinate investigation of internal and external customer disappointments.
  • Ensure customers are contacted with acknowledgement of complaint within 24-hour period and with corrective action when investigation is completed.
  • Describe, document, and apply elements of containment, corrective action, root cause analysis, problem corrections and verification of effectiveness.
  • Coordinate product quality issues and implement remedial action as necessary including product recall and quality return activities and/or customer notification while tracking to full closure with customer contact as needed.
  • Analyze and report quality trend data.
  • Responsible for working with manufacturing and engineering to identify and qualify continuous improvement projects.
  • Review and approve new products to ensure compliance with documented procedures as part of the new product development process.

 

The ideal team member will have:

Knowledge of quality system specifications (i.e., ISO/QS 9000)

  • Excellent computer competency, specifically database and statistical applications (i.e., Excel and Minitab)
  • Knowledge of statistical principles and tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints/part drawings.
  • Knowledge of Risk Assessment principles.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, time-management, and organizational skills.

 

Education, experience, work environment & physical requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering or related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with quality management systems in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Work is typically performed in an office environment.

Customer Support Representative

SilcoTek Corporation is actively searching for a Customer Support Representative to join our Customer Service Team! Our Customer Support Representative processes customer orders and requests in a manner that creates customer loyalty by creating a positive impression on a consistent basis and providing service above and beyond customer expectations. This position is responsible for being the primary servicer of domestic customer accounts as well as any administrative duties specific to the operation of the customer service department.

 

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Process customer sales order acknowledgements and inquiries according to department guidelines while completing contract review of purchase orders and/or drawings.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests from external and internal customers (expediting orders, order status, inventory counts, etc.).
  • Field customer questions and complaints, forward to appropriate departments when necessary.
  • Enter repeat customer sales orders and quotes.
  • Upon request from the Finance Department, assist with customer credit hold issues.
  • Maintain customer contact information and service requests into the appropriate database system as requested.
  • Update documents according to ISO guidelines.
  • Support and back-up Customer Support Representative team members and other customer service functions as needed.
  • Understand and perform safe handling of materials and maintain the quality of processes within the scope of job responsibilities.



The ideal team member will have:

  • Excellent communication, listening, and relationship building skills.
  • Be service oriented.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and efficiently.
  • One year of customer service experience is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • An associate’s degree in business or a related field is preferred.
  • ERP experience preferred.
  • Awareness of export compliance rules and regulations a plus.
