Certification Letter
Dear Customers and Future Customers:
SilcoTek’s Quality Policy is pursuing continuous improvement through our ZIP Code. “ZIP Code” means Zero disappointments, Integrity in all we do, and Plus 1 customer service. So that there are no disappointments, our Terms and Conditions expressly identify the fine print associated with the services that we provide (https://www.SilcoTek.com/about/terms-and-conditions). To achieve our Quality Policy, we certify compliance to each of the following:
QUALITY CERTIFICATIONS
SilcoTek embraces the concept of continuous improvement and is ISO 9001:2015 certified by the independent auditing firm BSI America Inc. (see Certification below). The coating applied by SilcoTek’s Dursan® process is compliant with NSF/ANSI 51 and all applicable requirements (see Certification below). The NSF/ANSI 51 requirement relates to safety for food contact as dictated by the FDA. The coating applied by SilcoTek’s Dursan® process is also NAMSA certified for USP Biological Reactivity Tests, In Vivo, USP Plastic Class VI (see certification below).
WORKFORCE PROMISES
SilcoTek takes great effort to comply with all laws within Pennsylvania in the United States that apply to all companies and does not endorse or use child labor, slavery, wages below minimum wage, or harassment techniques. SilcoTek employees are empowered to act as whistleblowers by contacting members of the SilcoTek Board of Directors for any illegal conduct. SilcoTek complies with additional requirements applicable to companies having over fifty (50) employees and that are sub-contractors to United States Federal Prime Contractors. For example, SilcoTek is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with Affirmative Action requirements. SilcoTek also takes great pride in creating a workplace consistent with safety regulations by identifying and removing safety risks, preparing for emergency situations, developing disaster recovery and business continuity plans, regularly maintaining all equipment, and maintaining a drug-free workplace.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROMISES
SilcoTek regularly meets with environmental regulatory bodies to make sure that we are not just meeting our obligations, but we are doing our part to help the environment. SilcoTek obtains all necessary permits, performs all necessary monitoring, and provides all necessary reports. SilcoTek does not use any substances within the scope of RoHS (Restriction Hazardous Substances), REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals), or California Proposition 65. SilcoTek does not provide a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) with its services because our coating processes do not produce hazardous chemical products. SilcoTek’s CVD processes deposit a thin (0.0005 micrometer to 2 micrometer) layer to a customer’s substrate. The compositional details of coatings applied by each SilcoTek process can be found on the corresponding data sheet. No coatings include CFCs or other toxic chemicals.
CORPORATE PROMISES
SilcoTek monitors and follows international obligations that apply through contractual obligations or through other means. SilcoTek complies with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the UK Anti-Bribery Act, Global Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), record retention and destruction obligations, anti-fraud obligations, antitrust requirements, as well as import and export control regulations. SilcoTek does not endorse or use materials, such as, conflict diamonds or other conflict materials covered by section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act. SilcoTek respects the intellectual property of other organizations and expects others to respect ours (see www.SilcoTek.com/IP). Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive 2015/863/EU (RoHS 3)
SilcoTek® coating processes do not use or apply compounds at levels exceeding RoHS compliance limits. Additional details can be found on our website at: www.silcotek.com/coating-certification-and-compliance-statements.
SilcoTek® does not manufacture electrical/electronic products, devices, or equipment and is not required to CE-mark any outgoing shipments.
Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals - Substances of Very High Concern (REACH-SVHC)
SilcoTek coatings do not contain any of the REACH Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) as updated by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). Additional details can be found on our website at: www.silcotek.com/coating-certification-and-compliance-statements.
Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Exemption
SilcoTek® does not provide SDSs for our coating processes because they do not produce hazardous chemical products. SilcoTek’s state-of-the-art CVD processes deposit a thin (0.0005um – 2um) ceramic layer bonded to a customer’s substrate. The layer comprises of elemental combinations of silicon, oxygen, and carbon, with no CFCs or other toxic chemicals.

NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) Certification
NSF Certificate below. Our Dursan® coating is compliant with NSF/ANSI 51 and all applicable requirements. That means that it is safe for food contact and also meets the FDA’s requirements for compliance. Dursan® is a high performance, versatile coating solution that provides corrosion resistance, durability, and anti-stick surfaces to the food and biomedical industries.
California Proposition 65
SilcoTek® coatings do not contain chemicals which are listed on the state of California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, California Proposition 65. Proposition 65 protects California drinking water from contamination by chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, and other reproductive harm. The act requires businesses to inform Californians about exposure to these hazardous chemicals. POPs
SilcoTek® coatings do not contain any substances subjects to the EU Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) Regulations.
TSCA
SilcoTek® coatings do not contain any of the five PBT chemicals under TSCA section 6(h). As stated on the United States Environmental
Protection Agency Website the five PBT chemicals include: Decabromodiphenyl ether (DecaBDE), Phenol, Isopropylated Phosphate (3:1) (PIP (3:1), 2,4,6Tris(tert-butyl)phenol (2,4,6-TTBP), Hexachlorobutadience (HCBD), and Petachlorothiophenol (PCTP).
EU Battery Directive 2006/66
All SilcoTek® coatings comply with the EU Directive 2006/66.
