SilcoNert used in flare gas analysis

SilcoNert® 2000 (Sulfinert®) is a key component in improved sampling of flare gas streams.  SilcoNert 2000 coated analyzer components improve ultra low level sampling of common flare gasses such as ammonia, mercury, H2S, & sulfurs in gassification, refining, oil & gas applications.  A 2004 study by the University of Alberta used SilcoNert 2000 (Sulfinert) coated components to improve low level detection of battery plant flares.  The study states;

"Due to the critical nature of the Sulfinert cylinder, the integrity of the vessel was tested by SGS Canada Inc. During this evaluative process the container was charged with various concentrations of H2S standards and monitored over a two-week period. At the end of this period of time, the cylinder was certified not to absorb sulphur and to protect the integrity of the sample for 15 days."
