A 2011 Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Review highlighted the effectiveness of SilcoTek's inert coating, SilcoNert® 2000, in enhancing the low level detection of explosives.

NRL is evaluating new explosives technologies to protect troops and facilities from today's threats.  NRL developed a new test bed featuring SilcoNert 2000 to evaluate the performance of the latest explosives detection technologies.

NRL turned to SilcoTek® to provide advanced inert coatings to assure ultimate low level detection, fast response and repeatable results.  The NRL article went on to state, "The NRL test bed is the only one of its kind in the world to provide quantitative results for explosive vapors over such a wide concentration range."  Read the NRL article.

Unparalleled Inertness

SilcoTek® coatings offer unparalleled inertness, achieving part per trillion detection levels by preventing stainless steel surfaces from adsorbing or reacting with active explosive compounds like RDX and TNT.  No other coating comes close to that level of inertness.

Coat the entire sample pathway

As detection limits fall, the chance that a single small uncoated surface will adsorb the sample increases.  To assure accurate low level detection, even at part per million levels, coat the entire sample pathway.
