Inert Coatings Year in Review. Here’s to a Great Year!

December 31 2015

Saturn

It’s that time of year where we all reflect on the past year and look forward to 2015. At SilcoTek® we can sum up 2014 by saying.... "not too shabby!" Here are some highlights:

We did some traveling.

SilcoTek® coatings are now on Mars, the Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko and exploring the rings of Saturn. We can’t tell you how many millions of miles our coatings have traveled this year, but we would have worn out several pairs of sneakers had we decided to walk!  Why are SilcoTek coatings traveling the solar system?  Because our coatings are the most inert and most durable available. Our coatings survive liftoff and can endure the extreme temperatures of space.  That's why space agencies and aerospace firms worldwide look to SilcoTek whenever high durability, corrosion resistant, inert coatings are needed.

We got our house in order.

Back on earth, SilcoTek improved our manufacturing systems by developing and expanding process and manufacturing capability. We continue to invest in our people through training and increased staffing; while continually improving manufacturing systems. We launched a new GC liner deactivation process to better serve our customers. We continue to improve the customer experience through enhanced ordering, customer service and easier to navigate website. The effort is reflected in our stellar growth and outstanding technical company award!

A chip on our shoulder.

We continue to expand coating sales into the semiconductor market. More and more semiconductor equipment manufacturers turn to SilcoTek® to improve corrosion resistance, reduce contamination and equipment burn-in. Why is SilcoTek growing in semiconductor?  Because we are the only large scale high purity CVD coating company able to bond inert silicon to stainless steel components, no matter how intricate.  Our coatings improve semiconductor manufacturing process yield and efficiency.

We kept it clean.

SilcoTek® coatings remain the number 1 inert coating for environmental and process sampling. Throughout 2014, SilcoTek contributed to a clean environment by helping refiners comply with low sulfur fuel requirements, ammonia emissions monitoring and sub part –JA regulations. SilcoTek coatings can be found in sampling systems 30,000 feet in the air and miles below the surface.  Wherever Engineers and Scientists are testing for pollutants and contaminants, you'll find SilcoTek coatings.
